Journey from Odawara (小田原城) to Hakone
Early morning, we took about 1 and a half hours train from Tokyo to Odawara. It is a pleasant place to visit and many people visit on the way to Hakone. Here are some photos and info about the places that i'd been visited...



Odawara Castle Park
Odawara Castle Park is a historical park centered on the Castle Tower. The park, a place of recreation and relaxation for tourists and relaxation for tourists and the citizens, also has a museum, an art museum. Beautiful flowers and blossoms bloom throughout the year in the park, such as plum, cherry and iris.



Donjon / Castle Tower (Tenshukaku)
A mountain castle built by the Omori Family in the Muromachi Period (1338 to 1573) was a forerunner of Odawara. Donjon was built in 1960 followed by the Tokiwagimon Gate in 1971. This donjon was rebuilt based on a model made around 1700 in the Edo Period (1630 - 1867). Inside the donjon are exhibits with historical information materials.

The height of the top floor is over 60m. From there, really can enjoy the beautiful view surrounding areas ~ (^ o ^) ~

Operating hours 9:00 – 17:00 (Admission is allowed till 16:30)
Admission Fee Adults 400 yen, Elementary/Junior High School students 150 yen.
(Common Admission ticket with Rekishi-kenbunkan Museum : Adults 600 yen, Elementary/Junior High School students 200 yen)

To remember the occasion, lots of tourist rent the Samurai dress and taken the photo at Odawara Castle Honmaru Square.


Fee Adults 200 yen, Elementary/Junior High School student 100 yen.
Operating hours 10:00 – 16:00 (Admission is allowed till 15:30)




Tokiwagi-mon Gate
As the main gate of Honmaru (main enclosure of the castle), this gate was made the largest and strongest.

Lunch @ Restaurant Kadomatsu



Along the road to Kadomatsu, met this fatty bear... and all these cute puppies ~ (^ o ^) ~
Finally reached our destination... have lunch first.. very hungry (^_^)

my favourite tempura, sashimi... yummy yummy...!! ~ (^ o ^) ~


This gal is so pretty... soooo lovely!!



After the delicious lunch, we have a short walk surrounding area.. taken photo at the florist shop.. and bought some fresh fruit..

Continue our journey to Hakone…
Hakone Sightseeing Cruise, offers spectacular views of Mount Fuji from Lake Ashi.
